Full itinerary
Day 1: Saigon Arrival.
Welcome to Vietnam at the Tan Son Nhat Airport and transfer to hotel for your own impression until the welcome dinner.
Day 2: Saigon - Can Giuoc - My Tho.
Transfer to Can Giuoc for 25km biking to warm up your leg towards Tan An, your first impression of Mekong Cycling Adventure on Mtb on single paths & through many vege farmlands. An enroute break for visiting a heroic Nguyen Trung Truc monument and massive dragon fruit fields.
After a Vietnamese lunch en route, you have a siesta at the hammock coffee-shop and pedal further to south of Mekong River Delta to My Tho Town for overnight.
Day 3: My Tho - BenTre - Tra Vinh.
It will be stunning to ride along the Mekong river. After about 15 minutes transfer to the other side of Rach Mieu Bridge, start cycling under the beautiful canopy coconut homeland with some excellent breaks for watching coconut products and/or experience harvesting coconut with locals.
After 35km off-the-beaten-track with multiple feelings, you will have a tasty lunch with all original Vietnamese dishes and another time to be rested nearby the lush coconut palms.
In the afternoon, you conquer 35+km along the zig-zag canal system of Mekong where you will understand the best about the local cultures while seeing fishing, boating, ferring, etc..
You will be driven to your hotel in no-tourristy town of Tra Vinh for relaxation until dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4: Tra Vinh - Tieu Can - Can Tho.
Today is a wonderfully unexpected cycling day because you can make a door to door with Mtb. This most beautiful rice-paddy ride will start 33km from the oldest Khmer Angkorajaborey pagoda (built in 990) to Tieu Can. Meet the support team and pedal another 17km to CauKe for lunch.
Continuing 35km cycling to Tich Thien & Tra On for Binh Minh where we should bring you to Can Tho for checking in hotel with dinner.
Day 5: Can Tho - Vinh Long - Cao Lanh.
After visiting Cai Rang floating market by boat in the morning, cycle 35km from Phu Ly to TamBinh and Song Phu for lunch. Afternoon ride to Vinh Long Town and conquer An Binh island about 40km before your transfer to Cao Lanh for overnight.
Day 6: Cao Lanh - Cho Moi - Long Xuyen.
An interesting morning ride to Sadec Town about 35km to Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House whose owner was in loved with Marguerite Duras then the story became a famous movie.
We continue biking through village of flower in Sadec, then we keep our afternoon’s cycling through many small villages of mango/orange gardens, rivers, wooden boat building hamlet. We have a van/bus transfer to Long Xuyen city.
Day 7: Long Xuyen - Killing Fields - Chau Doc.
In the morning, you jump on ferry to Cho Moi Ward with 45km cycling on Cu Lao Gieng where has many old french houses and church. Your highlight of this biking loop is this mango island.
At noontime, stunning ride continues in the village of religious Hoa Hao and many manufactories of Incense about 40km to Thuan Giang with a short transfer to Chau Doc.
Day 8: Chau Doc - Tra Su & Floating Village - Chau Doc.
In the morning, you pedal 27km right from your hotel along Tra Su canal passing the lush Cajuput forest, lotus ponds and many tiny villages in fields before arriving Tra Su forest for visiting this bio-atmosphere wetland with more than 72 spicies of birds.
Day 9: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh/Saigon.
Enjoy your early breakfast before taking a high speed-boat to Phnom Penh at 7h30 am, say goodbye to Vietnam Cycling Team and be ready for another beautiful challenge in Cambodia.
